Oath taking picture

New members are welcome in the Legion. You do not need to be a veteran, or family member of a veteran, to join. Any Canadian citizen or citizen of an Allied nation who is 18 years of age or older is welcome to become a member of the Legion! Learn more about our members. We have 4 categories of membership:

Ordinary Member: current or past member of Canadian Forces, RCMP and allied forces, who supports the objectives of the Legion;

Associate Member: family member of a current or past member of Canadian Forces, RCMP and allied forces, who supports the objectives of the Legion;

Affiliate (voting) Member: a Canadian citizen, who supports the objectives of the Legion;

Affiliate (non-voting) Member: a Canadian resident, who supports the objectives of the Legion.

Membership entitles you to access to our lounge and enjoy various Legion activities, hold events such as weddings in our hall, receive the Legion magazine, and to vote on Legion business motions and to elect members of the executive. Members are also expected to volunteer to help the Legion achieve its objectives, especially to participate in the annual Poppy Campaign.

Membership dues for Branch 256 in 2019 have been set at $55.

To join Branch 256 please drop in to the office (weekday mornings) or the bar (for example on Wednesday or Saturday afternoons) to complete an application form and pay dues.

You can also join the Royal Canadian Legion on line, although it may take some time before Branch 256 receives your information. To join on line click here.
